Clara Fernandez – from Debutante Balls to…

Clara completed a Science degree straight out of school and then started working as a health support consultant when one day the penny dropped. She realised that her side interest in running “debutante balls for schools” was not only something that she really looked forward to but could also be a very viable career option!

Clara discovered from chatting to others in the industry that event management was a growing industry with high job satisfaction and good employment prospects and with right knowledge and practical experience a very achievable career too!

Fast forward to now. Clara recently joined us for an Info Session to chat to incoming students about her career trajectory. She is currently working in the Wedding and Debutante industry as an event coordinator with a fantastic venue in Melbourne—The Grand Reception—and loving her professional life. And there’s plenty of scope for growth within the industry if Clara chooses to move in to another events sector such as not-for-profit or community events or perhaps open her own events business one day. The event world is her oyster.
